Our Big Plans For This Year

 We are emigrating!

My husband Martin has been looking for a job in New Zealand. It has been a dream of his to move there for some time. Now he has been offered a job in Auckland. It took me a while to get used to the idea of moving to the other side of the world at first, but now I am so excited. 

There is a huge list of things that we need to do before we go. Some of it involves waiting and twiddling our thumbs a lot, which is very frustrating, but I guess that's the way these things go.

Martin's new employers have given a provisional start date of 1st June. It suddenly sounds so near! We will probably have to fly out a week or so before that, so we can get over jet lag and settle in a bit. 

My head is in a bit of a spin, trying to decide what needs doing when. Some things I just don't know anything about and I've had to spend a fair bit of time trying to get my head around them. All the jargon around the immigration procedures and tax for instance. EOI's, ITA's, WTR, MAF, GST. Ugh!

We have to arrange to ship our belongings and sell or rent our house too.

I know it'll all be worth it in the end. Watch this space!

Bad Habits?

So what are your plans for this year? What could you change this year that would really make a difference to your life? 

Here's one of my bad habits I've decided I will do something about.

I have realised that I spend far too much time on the computer and I could be spending some of that time more constructively. 

My lovely hubby bought me a laptop for my birthday in 2008. Before I had it our family had one reasonably new iMac connected to the internet, and an old, clapped out PC that we only used as a means to play all the old games we had. When I wanted to get on the iMac I had to join the queue for it with the rest of the family. Now I had a lovely, shiny new Macbook...mmmm. I could sit in my bedroom and hog it all to myself. It was all mine... No competition.

Many of my coaching buddies don't live in Sheffield, so I keep in touch on line. And I got in the habit of sitting there, surfing, chatting with my buddies and I have to admit...I got a bit hooked on it. Eventually I started to put on weight as I wasn't doing as much exercise. The children got fed up with me and I eventually realised that it's because I wasn't being as attentive as I used to be. It's so funny how these things creep up on you. 

So I plan this year to limit my computer time each day and start doing more physically active stuff with the children again. More trips to the park and out to their friends are on the cards I think. And some of those trips I've been wanting to do, but made excuses. Ooh I feel more energetic already.

I have a few more goals up my sleeve for this year too. I plan for it to be a good 'un. More later.

Now I'm off. Been on here too long already. I have sprouts to deal with. Both the kids and the plant variety. See ya...

Hi and welcome to my site.

I'm Chris Iishin Horner. I am a trained life coach, raw food coach and Reiki healer. I am wife to Martin and also mum to four wonderful kids. Two boys and twin girls. We are a home educating family living in Sheffield in the North of England.

I've been involved with raw food since 2002 and have been on and off raw a few times since, for all sorts of reasons. One was being pregnant with twins. I could hardly keep any food down in the first few months, so I ate whatever I could manage. Sometimes emotional issues have thrown me off too. But in the end I always come back to raw food.

I've been drawn to healing all my life. It's taken until I was in my forties before I got around to really exploring it. I find it fascinating and am always looking to find out more.

I hope to explore many interests on  this site as well as raw food and Reiki. I am particularly interested in the spiritual awakening that is going on amongst the people on Earth at the moment. It seems there are many people on a similar path to me at this time. I wonder if this is another reason why raw food is becoming so popular. It has certainly been a catalyst for me. I believe what we eat has a big influence on our vibration and raw food in particular raises our vibration significantly.
