Hemp Milk Chocolate Smoothie
Hemp Milk: (Makes about 1 pint)
1/2 Cup Hemp Seeds
2 Dates, stoned
2 Cups Water
Put ingredients in blender and blend until creamy. Strain through a nut milk bag.
Smoothie:
2 Cups Hemp Milk
2 Bananas (frozen ones make it thicker)
1 Tbsp Raw Chocolate Powder
Blend everything together and serve.
Optional extras: Goji berries, maca, small quantities of green powder, mesquite, lucuma, any other superfoods you fancy. Be careful and only use small amounts if they taste strongly. A little bit every day mounts up.
Green Smoothie
1 ripe mango
2 bananas
1/2 packet spinach
Blend the fruit together first, then add the spinach and blend until smooth.
Almond, Banana and Honey Smoothie
1 cup almonds
3 cups water
3 bananas
2 dsp raw honey (or more if you like)
1 dsp bee pollen (Bee pollen is a good source of b12.)
Make almond milk by blending up the almonds and water. Strain through a nut milk bag.
Blend the almond milk together with the rest of the ingredients.
Enjoy!
Spicy Salad Juice (makes approx 1 litre)
(This may be one for the adults. My kids wouldn't fancy this. Too spicy and savoury.)
8 - 10 tomatoes (the redder the better)
1/2 head of celery
1/2 cucumber
1 red pepper
1 small red onion
5 or 6 sprigs basil (including stems)
small piece of fresh chilli
1/4 tsp salt
Red Rocket Juice
1/2 head celery
1/2 cucumber
2 apples
1/2 lemon
2 beetroot
large handful of chard or spinach
1 dsp maca
Nettle Smoothie
3 large ripe pears
1 banana
1 cup tightly packed with young nettle leaves
1 cup spinach
2 cups water
Put the fruit in the blender first, then the greens and the water. Blend until smooth.
Chocolate Buckwheatie Muesli
1 cup almonds (soaked)
3 cups water
1 dsp raw chocolate powder
1 tbsp agave or honey
2 cups buckwheaties (dehydrated buckwheat sprouts)
1 Tbsp goji berries
2 Tbsp raisins
Any other fruit you fancy
Make almond milk by blending the almonds and water. Strain through a nutmilk bag. Rinse blender.
Blend together almond milk, chocolate powder and agave/honey.
Mix together buckwheaties, goji berries, rasins. Pour on chocolate almond milk.
Bugs on Sticks
2 Sticks Celery
Almond Butter
Handful of Raisins
Cut celery sticks into 3 inch pieces.
Spread almond butter in the grooves
Sprinkle raisins on top.
Raspberry ripple ice cream
4 frozen bananas, chopped up
1 cup frozen raspberries (You can get these in Sainsbury's in the freezer section if you want a good supply out of season.)
Put the fruit through a homogenizing juicer, alternating between bananas and raspberries.
Mix well before serving.
Mango and Raspberry Sorbet
2 ripe mangoes
1 banana
1 cup raspberries
1 tbsp agave (or other sweetener)
1/2 cup water
Blend together until really smooth.
Chill for 1 hour in freezer
Put in ice cream maker for 15 minutes.
(If you don't have an ice cream maker, just put the mixture in the freezer and stir every half an hour or so.)
Raspberry Chocolate Pie
Base:
1 cup nuts (I like 1/2 almonds, 1/2 hazelnuts)
1 cup dried fruit.
- Process nuts and fruit in food processor. Add a little water to produce a dough.
- Push the dough into the bottom of a pie dish.
Filling:
2 cups cashews (soaked)
1 cup raspberries
1/2 cup water (to blend)
2 tbsp raw chocolate powder
2 tbsp agave
- Blend everything until smooth. Spread on top of base. Freeze for 1 - 2 hours before serving.
Sesame Snaps
2 cups sesame seeds (soaked for a while if possible)
2 cups dates (soaked)
Process the dates to a paste.
Stir in the sesame seeds (or mix using your hands).
Spread
on a dehydrator tray. Make marks with a knife where you want them to
break into individual pieces. (I make mine about 1 1/2 inches square.)
Dehydrate until crisp.
Rosie's Favourite Flax Crackers
1 cup flax seeds, soaked overnight in 1 cup of water
1 red pepper
1 small onion
10 soaked sun dried tomatoes
1 clove garlic
small bunch coriander (cilantro)
Process everything except the flax seeds in a food processor until well broken down.
Add flax seed mixture and process briefly.
Spread on dehydrator tray, mark into squares and dehydrate until crisp.
Choc Nut Cookies
1 cup pecans
1 cup almonds (or almond pulp left over from almond milk)
1 cups raisins
1 cup dates
3 dsp raw chocolate powder
3 bananas
1 cup cashews, roughly chopped
1. Process the pecans (and almonds if whole) in a food processor until as fine as possible.(Use a coffee grinder if necessary)
2. Add the chocolate powder, raisins and dates and process until smooth, then process in the bananas until you get a thick, chocolatey gooey paste.
3. Mix in the cashews by hand.
4. Dehydrate until dry on the outside but still soft on the inside.
5. Enjoy!
Garlic and Herb Dip
1 cup cashews (soaked)
1/2 cup water
4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp salt
Handful chives
Blend everything except the chives until smooth.
Add chives and blend briefly.
